I'm not a Dodge pickup guy, having driven Fords and Studebakers for decades. But a good friend of mine has acquired a 1987 Dodge midsize pickup, and she wants to completely restore it after her uncle fell ill a few years ago. It was her grandfathers last truck, and she has a personal connection to it. She wants to save it to drive and use as a family hauler and regular driver. It's old enough to have a carbureted V8 and 4 speed floor shift. The body is pretty crusty and rusty in spots, and it's now in primer.
Her uncle had been going through the suspension, brakes, and engine - so the running gear is basically good. Over the weekend she drove it from northern Iowa all the way home to Wichita. It's needs interior parts badly - new headliner, seat cover for the bench seat, kick panels, all seals around windows and doors, etc. Rubber floor mats, so no carpet to worry about. The interior reeks of damp and dust.
What websites can you Mopar guys recommend? She's pretty handy with tools and plans to do most of the work with help from her kids. Her hubby is a complete softie - a research scientist for a chemical company. She'd like to have the truck painted when she gets the rest done - plenty of body and paint places here in town.
