this showed up today, when I was looking for something else. My one trophy from high school.

There was a written test, to qualify for the state competition. At the competition, they did ten things to mess up identical cars, and each team had to fix everything, including getting the car to run to specification. I don't remember everything they did, but I do remember the one thing that no team got at our competition, was the secondary hood latch was removed. All the hoods sprang open, and none of the students noticed! but my shop teacher did...nothing he could do about it, though.Last edited by squirrel; October 22, 2021, 06:56 AM.My fabulous web page

From 1989! Unfortunately I didn't get to go to the hands-on portion. I had already committed (read: paid a lot of money) to go on our Spring Trip for marching band/symphonic band/orchestra. Ryan and John did breezed through the problems....except for one. I think it was a bad fuel pump relay or something like that. Not surprising, we rarely worked on efi stiff in our shop.
I'm still friends with all three of these guys. Good times.
Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
