    not 12 consecutive hours.

    not racing against each other

but other then that.... just like it - basically, he ran an autocross without cones.... woo (pause) hoo.

In other news (I was prepared to be impressed) I've always wondered if the SEC would arrest a CEO for taking reckless chances by driving in an actual race. I get it, he went around corners fast, but that is not in any way a race like the one where Abbie Eaton broke her back.

Why would the SEC care unless he told someone to short their stock because he was going to intentionally wad it up in turn 9?

Now the board of directors of Ford could have grounds for concern on the risk side of things.

But I will admit to being naive about how things actually work at that level

I crewed a few times for an HSR team, Ranch 74, at Sebring and it was fun and seemed like racing to me.

You can spray people with bullets across a field or go hand to hand fighting between fox holes , it's still combat .

historically speaking, there are far fewer accidents involving cars on a parade lap....

The Judd GV 4 Litre V10 made its race debut in 1999, powering the Rafanelli Riley & Scott LMP1 sportscar to victory in its second race of the American Le Mans Series at Road Atlanta. Over the next 6 years the engine became the benchmark for LMP1 customer engines, providing the best combination of performance, weight, fuel efficiency and reliability. The engine powered the Doran racing team’s Dallara to victory at the Daytona 24 hours in 2002, finishing 5th & 6th overall at LeMans in the same year with the Oreca team’s Dallaras. Further victories in races and championships on both sides of the Atlantic followed until the engine was superceded by the GV 5 litre in 2004. The engine can now be found powering many late model Formula 1 cars, such as Benettons, Arrows or Tyrrells where the original engine is no longer available or cost effective to rebuild. The enviable record the GV 4 established in sports car racing has continued in the single seater market. For example, all races in the 2010 BossGP championship were won by Judd GV 4 powered cars. The GV4 produces up to 750hp in unrestricted form. We continue to support and rebuild existing GV4 engines but are no longer able to offer new engines for sale. For similar single seater or sportscar applications we now offer the Judd GV 4.2 litre V10 engine.

The SEC would be very concerned if the CEO of a Fourtune 500 company wadded it up and died. That would be an extremely adverse stock market event no matter how it was looked at. The market would go nuts for only a few days or a week, yes, but it's a very large shock to the system. Ford could lose an astounding amount of stock market value for investors in the short term regardless.
