Something I'd been thinking of lately, then this ad comes up and it's getting very hard for me to not go to the bank right now...



This would totally get a fabricated frame and C4 suspension under it w/ LS/6-speed, keeping some-type wide wire wheels tucked. British Racing Green. And then driven hundreds of thousands of miles...

It doesn't help that Dan shows up w/ a very sweet MGB. What's a good phrase...soul-sucking-jealousy, maybe? I need to go out and sit in one of the junkers I already have sitting there waiting for attention and cool off.

Don't tell anyone but I've wanted one of these for about 30 years . I'd pull the turbo 4 popper out and put a 302 and a T5 in it. More or less a IRS fox body .

Loren: Spotted this a couple days ago on FB Marketplace, they already sold the MGB, and are now trying to sell the ASHLEY hardtop, which they're claiming is one of 100 or so??

A very rare MGB hardtop made by Ashley Laminates back in the late 60's and early 70's. 1 of 100 that were made and 1 of 9 known left in the world. There are only three in North America two in Connecticut and this one in Sherwood Park! Ashley Laminates made race car bodies for the Ford Prefect, Ford Anglia and Austin Sevens. They also made aftermarket tops for MGB, Sprite, Midget and Jaguars. The rear glass is also heated. One clip to attach needs work. I can have a crate built for shipping. This is one rare hardtop!! $3200 for hardtop only......CAR IS SOLD!

Never seen such a thing...that back glass must be from something more common. Shame they sold the car without the top but there must be more to the story?

These things are the VW Beetle of India (closed economy meant it was one place the Beetle wasn't imported/built in large numbers). I thought they were so cool back in 2006 when they were still very common on the roads (and an oddball "modernized" version still in production") when I visited my wife's family in India. Now they are mostly gone but still want to Hot Rod one up and drive it to class and see how all the Indian students react, especially to one making either V8 or Turbo noises.

The panel delivery would be cool but they sold vanishingly small numbers of them and life is not kind to commercial vehicles in India

My former F.i.L had one of these. Silver paint. He thought they were rare and would someday make some $$ on it by storing it and not driving it. No clue whatever happened to that one...

My first car was a 69 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron. with every option available, and do mean everything. The original owner was the wife of the owner of the Chrysler dealership. He checked every option box.
