I haven't track raced since the late 70's, early 80's.
But I still go to Events that let you have "Track Time"
And Just enjoy the Adrenaline Rush of that feel.....
Is that Drift.....OR ......is the Ass End coming out,
And I'm going to me "Mowing the Lawn" in a run off.

Hope you had fun with some of the other competitors.
Friends are Always there to point out your "incidents"
over a couple of beers, watching the sun go down over the car trailers......

the tl;dr of all of this is - I build cars for me. This doesn't make my cars better (then autox or SCCA track nights already do), so why bother? they want new cars - that ain't my gig, which is simply fine.

so the longer version is I was mildly upset - there were some who I wondered whether or not they were going to go too far. I don't do this for that crap.

Some derbys I felt my kids or I had better finishes than we were given. Favoritism is alive and well.. There is satisfaction beating big dollar builds

brake challenge, I think



this launch, 7k rpm and the brake challenge/Ax space is in a bowl... the noise... glorious. I'm sure I heard angels singing too

or Ax... one thing - the rules say you cannot change your tires.... that was roundly ignored

this picture plus one other convinced me to move the rear sway bar rate up

out on the track.... so numbers.... my practice lap was 2:41 in the wet, 1:47 dry... I needed about 2 more days of practice to get to the normal track time of 1:17 or so and better tires

still glad i did it, it was a great experience

imagine, the photographer is horizontal to my car in this picture - the Buick cannot see me or the corner from his perspective...

the camera isn't leaning... this corner really is that off camber
