Dan you're sharper than that, so I assume you're joking. Knock-offs aren't usually built by the original builder.

While it was a light hearted response , I was by no means joking . Carrol Shelby was like a starving artist. He sold the original at some point when its value was low . Over time he gained some wealth and fame which made his latter "works of art " sell for more than the original painting that he sold . We'll say that at some point he wanted the original but he couldn't find it or the current owner thought it was worth more than the Carrol could pay for it or wanted to pay for it . So , he created a second one years latter . And while he is the artist himself, it is a copy . While it is probably the best reproduction in the world , no matter how good he is , it still isn't the original.

Its a knock off . Or to put it kinder , it's a tribute.

I didn't mean to kill this thread .......I'm sure it's a great car . Anyone know just how far he went to clone the prototype ?Like does it have an independent rear in it ?

I don't know why you keep using the term "clone". The same builder just made another one.

Ford produces chit loads of Mustangs and they're not referred to as clones.

But we all know they are . And technically that was the first time I called a copy of the original prototype a clone . But back to my last question, how far did he go to make it as close to the real thing ?

We'll never agree on this , and I really just at this point am interested in the car itself not any history. But I donthink we're going to get it .
