Update:

One of the guys that work at this shop has stepped up and gotten the rig outta harm's way, as he popped a temp plate on it and drove it to his house. He's gonna deliver it to Tucson Auto Storage Saturday AM. At least its outta the yard of the shady shop owner, who may or may not have stolen my other truck that was also there. No info on that.

I'm still hopin' to get it east.

It's driveable, but with 5.13 rear end gears, it tops out around 45mph. New 454 is barely broken in yet.

Those rear-end gears are the only thing (that and no vaca time left) keeping me from flying out & driving it back.

I moved outta Tucson... only had one trailer... and the '56 was on it. ;D

The red-headed stepchild had to stay behind... and its been a nightmare of FAILS and letdowns trying to get it back on the cheap. Not to mention the shady shop owner who was offering a lot, and doing nothing.

DUDE, IF THIS TRUCK ACTUALLY MAKES IT TO MY HOUSE, I'LL PAINT IT THE SAME COLOR AS THE AMC AND IT'LL TOW THE JAV TO THE ICE RACES.

Did I mention it's a 454 with a four-speed, and 5.13 gears?

But I do have the 3.73 gears, they were in my 66 suburban and ran quiet
