      I sent the link to a friend who was not a hot rodder, but he's been listening to me for decades talking about the salt.
      He read the article and watched the video, and his takeway was this...

      So he was a car guy with FU money, and spent most of it indulging his car guy ethic while making the world better around him that had nothing to do with car guy stuff.

        I bet he didn't spend most of it indulging his car guy stuff . I'd bet he left a lot of cash with the wife / kids .

        But yes he did make the word a better place .

          Keep in mind that money came from what were basically pyramid schemes that did -not- leave a lot of people better off.

          But, nice article, if Hot Rod could have supported writing like that instead of straight-through shilling for pro-builders and parts sellers I might still be a subscriber.

            Good bye George. He was always kind and understanding with me as I tech'd them into Impound unlike Ron Main who was an ass and treated me like hired help. Sealing the tank on Speed Demon (they sometimes ran gasoline classes) was a real treat.
