7 minute video and I'm 1 minute into it and had to stop and tell you guys about it ! So neat . There's hope fore to be a metal shaper yet ! Well , at least till I find out what it costs .

SEMA last year.... it's all in the amount of computer work it takes to create the shape. If you can scan the shape (say you're recreating a fender for a 64 Buick wagon) then it's remarkably affordable ($1000 for the first). That said, if you have to pay a programmer 1000 hours to create your shape, then it's not so affordable.Doing it all wrong since 1966 -
That was pretty slick, the way they told the story and demonstrated the machine, it's nice to see pro-done video. It seems to me a little like metal-spinning, where only a small portion of the sheet is being worked at a time but is appropriate to the whole. I am imagining the software is complex and uses finite element analysis to work out how the stretching is done, i.e. just how much and where. The prototype biz should love that, much quicker than making up dies out of cast iron or concrete etc. as in the past. More please...
I had a loose association through friends with the shop that made props for the Tucker movie back in the late eighties, original parts being copied such as bumpers had this awesome shaped-and-finished face but then underneath were raw gas-torch-cut edges,,, Tucker didn't even shear thicker material, it was torched and not ground smooth. I would have loved to have visited the shop where 50 of those things were being banged out, I imagine there was some pressure on those guys.
I -did- visit a shop that was stamping out shapes in stainless steel using special-made dies, specifically linked feed chutes for the machine guns mounted outside attack helicopters, by getting a job there. I spent many lunch periods in the die storage room, that would be my step toward what I eventually made a small business out of....Comment

Dan: The whole Tucker deal is pretty interesting, but you're a bit late to the game
I posted on another channel about the Figur G15 back in Aug/2023.and the Vid was almost a year old at that point.

Cool video! I’ve been interested in 3D printing for a while now, and it’s such an exciting field with endless possibilities. I even reached out to snapfish email, asking for their help in choosing a decent printer that fits my needs.
