Maybe the old one got work hardened over the years . Maybe the should test a new quality sledge .

I lost it on the video at about the one-minute mark ("shut-the-hell-up, or turn the music off and make your point" is what I usually wind up stewing up on such videos, which is part of why I don't watch them) but all my heavy tools in the garden shed came from swap meets in the eighties and I've never had to wonder about quality. If there is such thing as a cast hammer from anywhere in the world since Mao's devotees had to melt down their plowshares, that is unfortunate, however if I were some guy with a space in the garage that looked like it needed a sledge hammer in it but I were not otherwise serious, maybe I'd bite at a fraction of what a real hammer's worth. I dunno. Since I didn't watch the video (why not when this post took just as long...?) I'll never know....

Cool video! Both hummers are great, but I would definitely lean towards the smaller one.
