This has been a LONG time coming....
Bought a '99 Silverado 1500 ext. cab shortbed 4x4 today...5.3, auto....150k on the clock, still tight as can be. Will pick it up wednesday or thursday....former owner tried to steal the airbag, having a new one put in. New tires(stock profile 16" BFG's), oil change and interior detailed(carpet and seats cleaned).....feel like a kid in a candy store.
Noticed it's set up for towing from the factory...anyone able to verify how well they do? Checked evrything out and Carfax'ed it, came back clean. I know I won't be attempting the Rubicon anytime soon, but kinda neat having my first real 4x4(the '85 S-10 Blazer 4x4 doesn't really count).
Not as cool as say, a flatfender Jeep, but it's a start!
