  • Bonneville here I come

Well today was my lucky day, check craigslist and that Turbo Coupe was listed for $1300, went down to the place checked it out and came home with the car.

My camera's dead so while that charges, here's the pics from the add. It's in pretty good shape for a one owner car.

            Probably by tomorrow. ;) ;D

No body work on this thing, it is straight as an arrow. Looks like it needs hood hinges, but that's all in that department. I feel for the money it's a good buy. And it'll be something my son and I can work on together. Because trust me it needs a little work. ;) But it runs and drives straight and that is all that mattered to me.

Nope haven't ordered the rule book yet, but I will soon. ;)

I'm thinking this will be a fun project to do with my sons. I already told my older son it's his car, well as long as he does good in school and doesn't get into trouble. ;)

to give you some ideas with the potential underneath the hood of that car...

with junkyard parts, bottom 11s is piece of cake. You can run all the EFI parts with a megasquirt and learn real EFI tuning in a snap. For practically zero dollars. You can take more junkyard parts, get rid of the distributor, and run coilpacks and crank trigger ignition... with a LOT less than what you spent on the Chevy motor in your garage, you can make an easy 800hp. You'll need some drivetrain upgrades for that.

horsewidower is a true TFer and I am sure he can tell you more. The engine in that car is one of the unsung heroes of the junkyard... and man, what a clean car,
