  • 32 Highboy: Japanese influence

Just stirring the pot a little. :D This is a highboy with an engine from a '96 Nissan 300ZX. It is sure to generate controversy here at Bangshift. Here's my thoughts: had a similarly-themed car been built in the 1950's by say, Mooneyes or SoCal, the beast would be regarded as invaluable and not replaceable..

    Thoughts?

Why not.Thats probably not a genuine rustfree roadster from 32 after all.Its a kit car.Use the engine that suits you ;)

As long as it is fast.....and I dislike the color more than the engine.

What difference would that make unless it was a correct nut & bolt restoration? A hot rod is a hot rod, not a historical piece... they're intended to be sideways and smoking.

I like old cars. I prefer for them not to have Jap engines, but if it makes someone else happy - it's their ride....

I can't see the pictures (cause my internet sucks) but why not...in couple years you can swap it out when the car is rebuilt

Does it make any difference from a Datsun with a chevy motor? or a Benz with a V8 American iron on it?

That is the hot rod definition of hybrid... and I think it's cool

German Car, American Motor, and it looks like an Asian owner...that is a hybrid.

I like the car it has a nice stance, wheels, color. Personnally I like them to look like sleepers but its not mine so each to their own.
