Got my first vcr in the early '80's,rented AM2.Was really dissapointed.Then I rented AM1.What a difference!
It was just about as I remembered it here in California when I was 14 yrs.old.Lucas nailed everything
just right.The story is embellished somewhat,but I remember listening to Wolf man Jack on the" Big X over
Los Angeles".

Maybe because it wasn't made as a car movie at all. It's a coming of age, teenage angst movie and how American teens used cars as a way to socialize back in the day. That's the reason it's one of my favorites. Not because of all the racing, or lack of it.

AG2 ( as stated already) is the continuation of their stories. While it is a little disjointed it gets better every time i watch it.

I've been pretty proud of the "car movie" collection I've built up over the last 7 or 8 years, but never got a copy of "More American Grafitti" till today. Picked it up at our local video store for 6 bucks, so I was stoked to come home and put it in after the football game. After about the first 10 minutes I'm sitting there wondering what the heck was going on with the movie. Other then the track sceenes with Milner, the whole entire show blew big time. I figured with the life altering experience that the first one was for me, that this would be a home run, boy was I wrong. Was anyone else disappointed with the movie? I can't believe I wasted two hours of my life on that thing......

If you put 1st one out of your thoughts, the second was was decent. I enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with good DRAG RACING in a movie. #### the shit they call drag racing now. Too many businesses involved. But, I did enjoy Force getting in Tony's face BIG time last week. The man's a ####ing pit-bull

I liked the movie, but really did not care for the editing and split screens. I think it would of been alot better without.

I liked AG2, sure its not the life altering movie the original is. But it seems right off it had more Hollywood feel to it, not just basic down and dirty like AG. Give me either on a rainy day.

That would be Candy Clark. I met her at GNRS show a few years back and she started flirting with me after she found out from the guy who puts together the appearances that Cindy Williams was flirting with me. Candy is still major hottie, imo.

AG1 in my opnion was the " The baby in mom's arms"
AG2 was the "reality hits the fan"!
You watch AG1 and find it entertaining, then watch AG2 and find out AG1 was how all things in life start and go down hill from there!

am1 was great. and i still consider it a car movie because the kids "came of age" around cars and the drive in. Justin, you are a little younger than alot of use, so you probably don't understand the movie the same as alot of us "older" guys. growing up, the car scene and cruising was SO important to life itself.

am2 just wasn't as good as am1. not even close.

Also as we all know the 55 Harrison Ford was driving is the same one in "two lane blacktop" And also American Graffitti is really based loosly on the writers real life experiences!
