  • Anyone watchin the Barrett-Jackson auction

In between the commercials there have been some nice cars going across. Prices seem to be coming back to the normal range.

What I don't get is a original car, Early '70's goes for 24000. Then a clone with different motor goes for 40000. Did I miss something ???

Wait until the end of the week, prices will be even more unrealistic. First few days of their shows are the lower priced stock, prices go up as the auction progresses. But, overall, yes prices are down somewhat.

I think the B.J. auction is a crime to REAL car guys. To me it says, dump 10's of thousands of dollars into a car just to try and sell it for profit. Oh ya, you can't drive it because you might lower it's value.
If I can't chip the paint from doing a burnout or drive it around town or to the grocery store and take the chance a bird may shit on it, I don't want it.
Nice cars are nice to have but what's the point if you can't enjoy it.

                        2 cars ... 5 commercials.....2 cars... 5 commercials... that gets old.

Saw a fully restored 41 Lincoln sell last year for somewhere in the high 40k's. It must have cost 3 times that to do it.

Restored early 70's C10 last night went for 20k-again it would cost at least half again as much to put it in the condition it was in unless you did absolutely everything yourself and got all the parts for next to nothing!

Don't get me started on this auction crap. I saw a 67 Nova, that I didn't really care for go for $175K, and a really nice, black 61 Vette go for $50K. Go figure. But, at least someone got a somewhat realistic price on the Vette. Yeah, I know it cost a lot to build the Nova. Still didn't make it pretty
