Re: D.F.'s A Body found part 2
1955 Peterbuilt 281, according to Wikipedia.
Duel was where everybody got introduced to Steven Spielberg. The directing made that movie.
I first saw Duel as a kid, home alone on a Saturday night watching TV. I didn't think much of it in the first five minutes then it started drawing me in...what a great flick. It turned out my wife saw it under the same conditions...we both still love it. It helped that we each grew up taking camping trips through the area where it was filmed.
"The car was carefully chosen, a red 1971 Plymouth Valiant with an underpowered engine." From the wiki article which is pretty interesting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duel_(1971_film)
Within the last couple years I saw a movie on TV where a guy gets locked in a parking garage, and is terrorized by an evil-looking Chev Blazer. At the point where the similarities to the Duel situation were getting ridiculous, and I was about to shut it off...the movie had a short scene where a red four-door Valiant drives past the main character, with a shadowy Dennis Weaver-lookalike inside... I had to laugh at the tribute. So I watched the rest of the movie, but can't remember what the title was.

Incidentally....I pull a tank trailer for a living....with a Peterbilt(Model 379). Mine's much shinier....but not as intimidating.
