  • Tragic death at a Indy indoor karting center.

Just seen on TV that tonight, a guy that worked for AT&T was at Fast Times indoor karting center, on the Northeast side of Indy, somehow got flipped on his side and went head first into a Plexiglas barrier wall and was killed.

I have raced on the track several times and find it very enjoyable. So much so, I have spent probably around $6,000 there having Christmas parties for my employees over the years.

The karts are not extremely fast, but they are actual racing karts. Just goes to show, you never know whats going to happen. When I find a news link, I will post it. Can't imagine what his family is going through right now.

That is sad. Go Kart racing is fun at big tracks, an I always figured pretty safe.

Wow, that is sad. Sounds like the same way Greg Moore died, albeit at a much slower speed.

Wow, I don't know how much cash I have spent there during the none racing season. Plus tons of trip with the folks from over seas.

            Sorry, to hear about that.

I know the owner from back in the APBA offshore days.

Some people criticize the ECTA for our STRICT adherence to the safety rules. This is why. We can be pretty silly about almost anything, but safety counts. No doubt, the Go Kart track took what they thought were adequate precautions, but they, unfortunately, have just learned a need for some kind of enhancement.

My heart goes out to his family and those who loved him.

                man that sucks. For everyone!

Like you, I take my employees to indoor karting places because, generally, everyone has fun regardless of skill level. Life is short, make sure you have as much fun as possible I guess.

Hopefully this won't affect the fun for the rest of us.

I'll say its very sad. But I guess I'd rather die doing that then tripping down the stairs on my front porch or breaking me neck while ICE SKATING (hehehe)

It really is sad. What a freak accident. Of all the times I've to a carting track, I can't recall anyone even being hurt.
