The truck is awesome! I think it's worth getting a CDL just to get that thing!

That site also has one of Smokey Yunick's homogenizer-equipped Fieros for sale as well. Weird but interesting.

I remeber rooting for the truck when I was a kid...I hated that little red mopar...to me it was machine vs machine. I would love to roll into the local cruises with that...make all the lawn chair mafias assholes pucker

The guy that owns that is a member at Hanks Truck Pictures.com on the forum. He also owns one of the Rubber Duck trucks from Convoy. I think he said the Duel Peterbilt was just barely in the movie, which is why its still around. He has photos of it next to the place they used for Chucks Cafe, scared a few people in there that had seen the movie. Its now a French restaurant.

UGH, i hate 10 bolt bud wheels.

Beats the hell out of Daytons...never have trusted those lug cleats.

Make mine 10-lug, 10-hole Alcoas...although 5-hole tube-type Alocas would be more period-correct for this old Pete(yeah, I'd own it...but the weathered, abused look would have to GO).

I'm wondering how the hell the then-owner managed to park a tanker in a residential area without the DOT raining hell down on him, movie truck or not.

I'm willing to bet the movie people cleaned every bit of old fuel fumes out completely, before they started filming and it has not had anything in it since.
