Escort vs. Nova. What are my chances?

So, a friend of mine have a friendly bet on who's car is quicker. So the plan is to take them out to the strip in the spring. Anyway, I just want opinions on whether or not I have a chance. His car is the '76 Nova 4 door I was talking about awhile ago. It has a tired out 305 with a 2bbl, but may have a 4bbl and headers by spring. It also has girl-o-matic of unknown specs. By spring I should have a header, new clutch, and new tires. I am in over my head playing with a V8, or do I have a chance?

IIRC you took the escort down an 1/8 mile right? if so what was your time?

as long as he just puts on a 4bbl. and headers you would definitely have a chance and would probably win.

Using an online calculator, inputting 10.8@64mph, converted it to [email protected].

I'm betting you win, at the launch. Get a good launch and your light weight should help you move your ass well. Only issue is if that weak 305 gets a head of steam near the end.

I don't know what's it's got, but the appears to be stock. I doubt he does either.

These are the factory 60 foot and quarter miles times for 73-75 Nova's. And may I add these have 350's not 305's.
