    Re: Dream junkyard.

I worked at a junkyard for almost 3 years and never took a picture of the place. It made money though, so it didn't look like this.

One of these days I'll get out to Ralphs and take some pics. It is sort of like this, but more crowded. Nothing stacked, except when they're crushing.

The other yard around here does late model stuff, and since the housing development moved in next door and people started complaining, they built a "wall" of stacked cars all around the yard. I lmao when I drive by

sadly you cant even go in to a yard here you have to go to
the order counter and most the time they have nothing or

        Re: Dream junkyard.

The yard that I use here is pretty similar to that. Everything is spread out and pretty disorganized. I usually just go out into the yard, find what I need, THEN stop at the counter to see how much they want for it. No sense in asking the owner where anything is, I know the yard better than he does because I spend more time in the yard. Prices are always reasonable. Sad thing is that it is hard to find anything good anymore since everything is pretty picked over.
        Still plays with trucks....

I NEED the '63 Sport Fury. Even if it's a regular Fury, that's OK. I LOVE that body style. I could round up enough goodies out of the pile to make a motor and a 4 speed for it. My heart is going pitty-pat.

That is something I am considering for 2010 as well.
Hauling ass & sucking gas are the best uses for a truck.

JW. I love you. Will you marry me? Please send pics of the junk yards. We'll have to work something out with ME, who really IS a sweetie but has NO junkyards - indoors or outdoors.

                            Re: Dream junkyard.

We recently(as of this past Saturday :D...)went up to Harry's Pennsburg location. LOTS of 100-PLUS-year-old-Barns up in 'ole Pennsburg. Very 'High-End'/Yuppie-ish....very ME ;D. Seems that the old stuff is getting harder & harder to find these days, although there was a complete, yet rotted '67 Chevy Pick-Up with a 250-6/3-Speed/6-Lug Wheels. I put a $125 deposit down on the combo as well as the Floor Shifter ;). Not much else in terms of 'old stuff', BUT...if you're into Escorts, weather it's old or new, ones,Harry IS YOUR MAN,He's got early Merc 'Lynx' RS's,a couple of European Merc's-XR4TI's,some early 90's GT's(LOTS of 5-Speeds in there right now....),with LOTS of complete 1.9's. Walter would LOVE IT ;D ;)! LOTS of 'C-4-C' stuff as well. ~J/W.

The recycling yard I work for has a place in Pennsburg too but its not a u-pull-it. Harrys in Hazelton is the largest yard in the U.S.
