  • How to make your Keystones not look like ass

Well, I was killing time today and decided to experiment with the old Keystones on the car while the battery was charging....

Here is one before I started...

I used a dremel and a 3M bit to clean all the old Rustoleum black off the wheels, masked and painted with gloss black

Here is the final product after paint and some polish

are these the wheels to your time machine? either that or you forgot to set the date on your camera.

Nice job on the wheels. They look plenty polished to me

SOS pad's and water will do wonders to that as well... I'd do it before I painted them.... but between the two things those will look MINT...

Very nice! Sure beats paying $180.00 each for new ones. I like the look of "older" style wheels, especially if they have been out of production for awhile because you won't see them on every other car at a show or cruise night. A year ago I found a set of 14x8 Appliance Wire-Mags on E-Bay, paid $90 for all four. A good media blast and polish and they should look like new.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

The thing with 14 x 8's that keeps them cheap is that you can't get many tires to fit anymore.

                  Need some 14 x 8 aluminum slots?

Your right, the biggest radial made is a 245/60/14. Other than that it's bias-ply, like Mickey Thompson Indy profiles.

My mom had a set on her 73 Buick Centurion-aztek gold, 455, convertable.

Was a sweet car. Hey, nice wheels bro!

Nice polish on those wheels. Any tips you can give on how you polished them up like that?

lots of elbow grease brake cleaner, and a polishing wheel with cleaner and then followed by polish....and then hand polished...got the polish kit with 3 wheels with compounds at home depot for 9 bucks and it will fit any drill...you can find it in the tools section. took me about 2 hours one wheel....

I still can't believe that my Kia Spectra EX runs bigger tires than my Old Chevelle. It just does'nt seem right. 15" on a Kia and the new ones take 16" I'll bet the Old Chevy would look great with 20"s and 19"s on it.
