what are they doing with the v-8 at only 315hp? can't have it be that close to the six.

As for the V8, well, I assume that's where the Coyote motor steps in... :D

It is the 3.7L version currently being used in some Lincolns at 273 hp, with a few top end tweaks for more power. First RWD application for it.
The V8 in the GT will be around 400 hp for 2011, that's when the new "Coyote" 5.0L is due.
