    You don't have to have lived during any particular period of time to know about some of the things that existed then but it does strike up some interesting memories for those who did live during these times...

    How about, on the dash, push button transmissions?

    I'll see your rotary dial phone and raise you a phone ringer on the wall, not on the phone itself (ours was mounted in the closet).

                Actually being able to remember stuff :

                Having the fastest car ;)

                    AM radio only...
                    No catalytic converters..anywhere....
                    Air conditioning was an option and most people didn't opt for it.....
                    Disc brakes were not even an option (at least on American cars)....
                    The only family van was a VW....
                    Half of the drive between Washington, DC and Daytona beach was non-Interstate....

                            Having Dad tell me I could'nt spend $1,600 to buy that shiny black 66 Coronet with the fresh 426 Hemi, 4 speed and drop tube front axle from that car lot in Medford, OR (Honest Harry's Used High Performance Cars)
