After replying to "First cool car you can remember", I started thinking if there were any other cars that made an impression on me when I was young.
Back in the early '70's I remember a Sears DieHard commercial.
I think this is how it went:
A 50-something Dad (appeared in a few TV shows, can't remember his name) and his wife are heading out for a night on the town.
Dad discovers he has a dead battery.
Goes back into the house and asks his Hippie son who's watching TV "Son, can we borrow your car?"
Son says "Sure, don't forget to put some gas in it" as he tosses Dad the keys.
Next thing you hear is a MOPAR crank and fire up with a rumble.
Son hears this and smiles.
The next shot shows Dad pulling away and having a real hard time with the clutch on Son's hot rod.
Here's the part I'm not positive about, The Car
Was it a '68-'69 Baracuda fastback with a Superbird wing, chrome side pipes, big meats on chrome wheels and a multi-color Candy paint job?
If anyone remembers for sure what the car was, I'd love to know.
