China Gets A Fast Train

'The train can go 245mph, it's the fastest train in operation in the world,' said Zhang Shuguang, head of the transport bureau at the railways ministry.
Test runs for the service began earlier in December and the link officially went into service when the first scheduled train left the eastern metropolis of Wuhan on Saturday.

"Made in China" :o ..................you go first, I insist.

Interesting, it reads like they built the rail line to put the commuter airlines out of business. So ....surely the government has a heavy hand in it...so.... they are competing against themselves?

And yeah, do I want to ride a 200+ mph train BUILT IN CHINA, or fly on the Chinese airplane that's held together with duct tape and hasn't been inspected in its entire life...those are the choices.

Actually, I think I'll just not go to China at all. Haven't lost anything there. Nothing to go there looking for.

The train looks racy enough though. It'll make a BIG mess when it wrecks going that fast....
