That's more-or-less the story here. Girlfriends came and went, fortunately they were pretty easy those days. I'd spent half the year building a car, which I wrecked within weeks of getting it out and heading around the state to wander around. The best I can say, is that on my 18th, I kept a promise to myself and mentally dropped away from two/thirds of the bullsh*t I had in my life. Good move.

I turned 18 in 1998. It wasn't that great of a year for me. I made some decisions that alienated me from most of my friends, and the new people who I became "friends" with really weren't my kind of people. I was pretty much alone at that time except for my older brother. My relationship with my parents even sucked. My job & boss sucked, and I had no goal or plan in life. I moved away for a year, and over that time got a little more grounded. I came home and re-established friendships with the guys who really cared about me, and we spent a lot of time at Maple Grove on Friday nights.

The best thing that happened that year was ditching the 305 in the Monte, dropping in a 350, and in the spring went 13.90's. ;D

Right now is the best I have ever lived, and its mostly because of my wife. She keeps my mind open but focused. Its awesome. Even so, the best is yet to come...

The day after my comencement, I had to go to work at 6:00 am for my first day of work roughing houses for my dad. I got my ass kicked....

yeah , the day after the graduation party , started the 8+ hour days , went to college and turned pro ..
it was insane
now a nice family , never got that don ness pro stocker , never go to the track enough , sold the racer to pay for the racer jr
