    Re: Old Speed Shop Catalogs

I think I might have an old PAW catalog somewhere, I used to drool over that thing for hours as a kid. They were as big as phone books....Two things you don't see much of anymore. Phone books, and PAW catalogs.

ASAP was Super Shops attempt at mail order when they realized Summit was going to take 'em down. Which happened anyway. Their Sparks NV location is now Summit west, at least there was a buyer for the warehouse if not the products.

I found an old Gratiot catalog from '76. Linda Vaughn was willing to pose in front of a Ford Van with a vinyl roof and Tru-Spokes.

There were lots of van parts available, such as aluminum-and-plastic opera windows in all kinds of styles. Far-out. Better yet are rebuilt Muncie 4-speeds, cheap.

Header U-bends were under four bucks, which was like only two hours pay for me at the time. They're like $20 now. Exhaust for your Pantera was reasonable too, if it were in today's dollars.

This 1970 Isky catalog came from the auto shop at my high school, in '74. I don't think they missed it.

Customers might get their race cars shown at the bottom of the page.

An Isky cam would get you more power from your Hemi, or your Volkswagon. How 'come those curves are all about the same height ;)?

Anybody remember this guy? Old magazines and catalogs are sure fun to look at!
