Google for "CHUPACABRA Song". It was Randy Garibay's biggest hit which is kind of a shame as he was really a great musician and most only know him for this novelty song.

A guy here in North Carolina trapped one of those ugly sucker a couple months back.

Its believed to come from down in Brazil originally.Or somewhere in South America,cant remember for sure.

Local news reports it is a hairless raccoon.

Could be, a possum might have a fatter tail. Still rather grotesque looking if you ask me, and I don't get many chances to see dead hairless varmints.

There's a show on the history channel, MonsterQuest, that looked at these things. Last year sometime was when I watched it. A lot of people have seen/killed them, but the conclusion they came to on the show was it was a coyote with really bad mange.
