I just found this thread. Here is an NOS AMC Indy 500 block, AMC factory aluminum head from the Indy effort (I have a set) and an AMC NASCAR intake. Intake info......"Henry Dvorchak adapted a carburetor system for an AMC Javelin, which legendary Penske driver Mark Donohue was running in SCCA, and put a Chevrolet manifold on an AMC engine, which Donohue raced with in his Matador in NASCAR."
Lovin this thread!
All the Gurney Weslake porn reminded me of the aussie Duggan SBC heads...
A guy in my street had a pair on a 331 SBC w/ Mech F.I. and ran it in Aussie C/Gas... Ran under the record a few times in it in the early 90's...

Funny, I just saw a early 70's AMX in PHR that had that intake. I grew up in a AMC house hold. Back in '63 dad bought a stripper Classic 550. I think the only option besides the radio was the reclining seats and seat belts. Then a '65 660 with automatic! Still a 232. By '70 he was ready for another. As a 14 YO who would be learning to drive on this car, I talked him and mom into the 304 V8.
In HS I drove a '58 Rambler, I thought it was just so funky with the fins. I miss that car. Later on I had a 72 Gremlin X, 304, 3.54 gears and 3 speed which I swapped out for a T10 out of a Javelin. I put headers and dual exhaust. Fun car.
This thread is so old I can't remember if I posted this or not. Anyhow, if you follow this link it'll lead you to a PES intake for an inline Chevy six. I guess they're no longer Unobtainum as Tom (it's his site) is offering them again. He hasn't posted it yet but he also has a used one - mine - that he's selling on consignment.
There was some Corvair love earlier in this thread. Check this out:
As I understand it this is an experimental mechanical fuel injection set up that GM was working on circa '65-'66. It's timing for the injectors was operated via a cogged crank driven belt. It was on display a Corvair show I attended a couple of years ago, and was being transported to the Ypsilanti Auto Heritage museum.
Non-denominational car nut.

Do you go all the way?
Glad to see this brought back from the dead!
I looked at every post again, man there is some cool stuff. I tell ya Ford had lots of interesting R&D going on back in the 60's and 70's!
The museum in Ypsilanti is EXCELLENT. It's located in Mr. Miller's Hudson dealership - the last one in the world. They added on a bit but that's OK. And right across the street (and railroad tracks) is a GREAT bar with super food. Take it in if you can. Last time I was there it was full of BSers, which made it even better even though the museum was closed.
