  • Auburn Speedster Pine Car

My daughter Tess, decided that her car for the Pinecar Derby would be an Auburn Speedster. Obviously, she has very good taste!

She did all the cutting and shaping, with very close guidance from me, except for the cockpit which I cut out on the Bridgeport. She formed the windshield frame from a cotter pin.
The car was actually pretty fast on the track, and won best of show.
Being a proud dad, I hope you like it!

    In progress

    Painting the chassis

Pouring lead into the body to get the weight to exactly 5.00 oz.

                Re: Auburn Speedster Pine Car

I like the Auburn Roadster, She did a great Job.
keep them all interested in making and building things with thier hands, so many children these days are not developing thier Motorskills unless its with a Computer.

                Dan,
I call him my Stepson because He is raised by His Mom only. She is a Co-Employee I worked with and did not have any Tools for him to use. So, She brought him over to the house and She helped Him build it.

They are like Family. His Mom built one that looks like a Brick. But it worked. His looks like a Streamliner.

Your daughter has some serious skills. That car looks amazing. I am also impressed by the fact that she even knows about Auburn Speedsters. She must make you very proud.
