  • Stranded at home...

Escort started this morning, went out to leave
and it had died. Seems like no spark.

Now waiting for work to come and tow me in so I can fix it...

That sucks, I hate being stranded (even at home) without wheels
Whiskey for my men ... and beer for their horses!

Sounds like a good reason to stay home today Min?
Life is too short to drive boring cars!

If I had a garage and tools at home, I would.

Instead, I have to go to work, so I can fix it.

Sorry. If it is really dead can I have the crank? I am probing the 2.0 spi forums now to see if there are any common no spark issues.

It's not dead, just no spark.
I'm thinking coil pack, or crank sensor, or something like that.

I could probably find you one, though.

I know it's not dead, I am just being morbibly optimistic. ;D The 2.0 crank has better balance than the 1.9. Supposedly is good for 9000 rpm motors.

Min - blame it on all this snow we are getting.

At least it's an escort so you know parts won't be too pricey!

Good luck and let us know what ends up being the culprit
There's always something new to learn.

                        Re: Stranded at home...

My dad just recently had to replace the ignition module in his deathscort. I would of been late to work this morning had I not gone out last night to move the Jeep as I had left the headlights on and it killed the battery. That does suck though, especially since it was running. You know we won't let you live it down if you just ran out of gas ;D (well Walt might ;D)
                        Escaped on a technicality.

1/2 tank, never let it get below quarter tank.

                              Sediment sits on the bottom,
so I don't let it get below 1/4 tank.

And I change fuel filters yearly.
