  • IF YOU OWN A NEAT CAR .... read this PLEASE

We're car guys. But owning something truly neat requires increased vigilance. Here's the link to a very good article on what takes place after "life happens" to your car. It's a follow-up to the "wind shear" incident that struck January's Russo & Steele auction in Scottsdale, AZ. PLEASE READ THIS, here's the link:

Good article. Insurance is one of those details that I've never devoted enough attention to; this is a wake-up call.

fundamental to the term "Act of God" is this definitive phrase, an event so catastrophic that only God himself could have foreseen it. And I quote from the article "the worst windstorm in 40 years" is not, by definition, an act of God.

Thanks for the heads up about the necessity of proper insurance. To those who had cars damaged by the winds in Arizona, it's pretty unlikely that the court won't side with you should the insurer/auction company only argue act of God.

one related bit when your car is damaged in an accident, it reduces the resale value of the car - many states (Washington, for example) require the insurance company to compensate you for that loss as well. This applies to non-stated-value collector car insurance policies as well...
