  • Moser Gears are not TC proof

Well like I mentioned before I broke the pinion gear in my rear axle on my '99 Camaro. The gears were from Moser Engineering and I guess couldn't hang with my everyday driving habits. ;)

I think the pics are self explanatory, just look for big cracks. I got really lucky that I have that tunnel mount torque arm as it transferred the vibration to the floorboard and that's how I knew something was wrong. Basically I just got lucky.

And a weird thing the GM ring and pinion I got to replace these actually was bigger. The ring gear was about 1/4" wider and the pinion was bigger to, hopefully bigger means stronger, if you know what I mean.

Anyway here's some pics of the bullet that I missed

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

Those are some pretty impressive pictures :o Those 7.5" gears are pretty small.
      Escaped on a technicality.

12 bolt may be in the future, but I'll have to break this one again to do it. ;)

That's what you get when you can only do burnouts by doing neutral drops.

I'm thinking more of the result of a 3800rpm stall.

And trust me I don't need to do neutral drops to do burnouts. ;)

Why? because there's 2300 foot lbs of torque because the torque converter is doubling the torque?

TC, are you running a girdle? If not, I'd recommend it.
