I love Country music, always have, I am so tired of so many of the people I talk to hating it, none of them, like this woman, have any clue about real country, I know one person my age who likes it (though you'd think slayer music by looking at him)

How the hell can anybody like lady gaga, first of all, that is one of the worst names ever, and secondly, she's the ugliest woman since Michael Jackson since she is the female version of Elton John, but with horrible music

I agree. Although I don't mind the people that say they don't like country, it's more the people that say they do like country, but don't know any real country songs, just the new trash.
I just wrote a paper on the history and changes in country music for my roommate (now he owes me a case of beer) and it put me in a better mood. This new stuff they're trying to pass as country is garbage, but I learned through my research tonight that it's cyclical and real country will be back on the radio soon.

If "country" wasn't "music" it wouldn't be so popular. I don't agree with it, but I'm hopelessly outnumbered. It's cliche to say that simple minds are easily amused, but it's much bigger than that. Country is huge, always has been, and I don't understand why.

What I understand even less, never mind the genre or the venue, who decides who is big? I've seen a few acts in beer joints who were far better than what's on TV. Who decides that?

I only know of her because of those incessant ads of hers on Hulu. Definitely not my kinda noise. I am more into Industrial, preferably German bands, non hairband metal, and old stuff like Doors, Hendricks, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc. If it wasnt for Hulu I would have no idea who she is. She isnt really ugly, but it takes more for me to be interested than a pretty face or the right shape to an ass, big hooters etc. If she cant hold a decent conversation and isnt knowledgeable of a wide range of topics, then I wont have interest. Famous does not mean interesting or exciting, it just means lots of people know who they are. Big freakin deal.
