  • TH200 vs 200r4 pics anyone?

    I'm in the hunt for a multi-case (aka., Chevy-compatible) overdrive 200r4 tranny...

I'm gonna go do the craigslist thing, and then make the junkyard rounds.

Anyone got pics to help me tell the difference?

And whats a good website for junkyard parts that lets you search by part? car-part.com doesn't let you, so you get vague hits as to what I'm really looking for on this one.

The 200r4 has the longest trans pan imaginable.

    It's pan number 5

the 200 and 2004R both are very strange in that they don't have an extension housing (tail housing) that unbolts, the case is one piece.

The 200 has the mount right at the very end of the case, the 200 has it up a ways like a normal trans.

Whatever you do - don't send Seth to pick up a 200r4 for you - you'll end up with a TH300 -E or some damned thing....

at least Indy ended up with it and hopefully put it to good use! ;D
