saw them in '94 at the birchill in jersey. i went with a chick i worked with who was into them.
i was in the bathroom washing my hands when this huge dude walks in and says, how ya doin? as he walks past to take a piss. next thing i know, he's on stage singing. my brush with fame. was a fan ever since.

I had to think back to remember..

at the time of metallica, and other hairy guys being "bigger"...

along came this band, a truly ugly giant, a large voice with no effects.. trying to be smaller.
I skipped right over my generation...

i really remember this one, the 90s sometime..

at the time I had a punch fosgate at 1700 dollars in the car (that was just crazy) shaking windows... this guys voice alone could shake windows..
          very unusual.
          RIP.

            Re: R.I.P. PETER STEELE

Got to see them in '96 or so when they opened for Ozzy. Man he was a monster. Loved that deep voice, very unique and distinctive. One of the most self depracating rock stars I have ever heard of. "Don't mistake lack of talent for genius" was on the back of 'Bloody Kisses'. With all the arrogant pricks in the music biz, how could you not like that?

Saw them with Ozzy too in Lubbock in '96, I think.

Seemed like an interesting fellow. R.I.P. Peter.

I'm old. I have no clue who this guy was. Hope his family and friends are OK and find some contentment going forward.

I must admit I'd never heard of him or the group - I stand musically challenged too Dan.

Seen this, and thought"....naw, must be a car guy with the same name".

Dude had some personal demons that may have played a role in his demise(drinking, drugs....did a stint at Riker's Island). Still, the man had a baritone voice that was unbelievable.......let's just say the man could talk to a group of constipated people and have'em cured in no time flat.

                            RIP, Pete.
