    pretty interesting concept...

I'd really like to see how they made a 460 econoline 1 ton FRONT WHEEL DRIVE?

    (modified toronado transmission?)

I remember those things. They used a regular C6 auto trans with a transfer case driving the front wheels only. Not something I'd want to drive more than a hundred miles.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

        Sweet -
So it's the front half of a 4x4 set up?

Schnikies! Those transfer cases are not designed to be run all the time, or for extended periods of highway cruise!

Maybe with a pump, transcooler, and the corresponding additional fluid it might stay alive.... might.

That would explain the 4x4 front end stance of the thing.

Interesting concept for sure - and impressive that someone actually got such a thing into production - however limited it was.

No carpeted boards for the boat to load onto? Straight onto steel? Not even any rollers - yikes!

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

                  Oh man, THIS THING RULES!

WOW. It's totally insane in a brilliant kind of way. This is something every 1980's television super-villain would have needed to have. Hell, I can see KITT jumping this troat (truck/boat...yep, made that up all by me self) at the end of an episode of Knight Rider.

Boog....this is a good one and it's totally hitting the blogo on Monday!
