I have been trying to get a rust free (or little rust) 64 or 65 valiant 2 dr or barracuda up here in the north east for some time. I want to make a road racer though...

Mike, pick up the new Hot Rod Deluxe on the newsstand. It has more of the same story from Magnante. Also, he has a new dvd available that shows the entire altered-wheelbase project.

Check Craigslist LA. There are always tons of early A-bodies on there for cheap. IMO, you want a Dart and not a Vali for an AWB swap. One guy I know of raced an altered Valiant in the '60s, but a Dart is more "correct."

It was the same year as my fathers growing up, it was also, the first car I wrecked I was only three or four years old at the time. :-X
