Well.... hate the specific engine that's in it but here's the deal. If you could put a stock Fiero engine in it... what's to stop you from doing any of the engine conversions that you can do to a Fiero to the car? I mean it's still a Ferrari chassis and body and that's downright awesome. Put a bit of Buick L67 3800SC, Northstar, or heck a SHO V6 in it. I'd go for the SHO V6 since it's a Ferrari, rev it to the moon and let it all hang out in the mountains.
Wait until Scott (Dieselgeek) gets a load of that state of the art fuel management system!

so I look at that car and think - if someone was TRYING to achieve the truly worst of ALL worlds - then, they achieved their goals perfectly!! Crappy chassis, crappy powertrain! I'm not even bothered by the carb so much as the 2.8 POS engine in there. Im pretty sure the ferarri motor was more reliable...

Didn't look at the eBay auction but let me see if I got this straight: they used a Ferrari body and put it together with a lower class engine? That's kind of like ... blasphemy.
My first thought was maybe it was something they did for fleet Ferrari's they used to rent in Hawaii. You know, have a bunch of 308 bodies but with a drivetrain that was fairly innocuous. When I was there (at the height of the Magnum PI craze), those things were freakin' everywhere for rent.

Whoo Hooo someone else who hates the Metric 60 V6 as much as me!!
Ferarris, especially the cheaper more popular ones, are built pretty badly. Even the mighty F40 has some sketchy build quality. The 308s were well known to rust/rot.

My fav ofcourse would be an LS but really think a 4 cam v8 would LOOK more at home . 4.6 north star, 4.0 Baby star , and 4.6 ford mod motor. I think I'm the only person on the face of the earth that likes the 2.8 ( S-10 2 wheel drive wuth a stick ) had great reliability and economy but in a Ferrari ?
