  • This new 5.0L Mustang - n/a in the 10's now!

    is bad ass.

Bolt-on (cold air intake/tune/offroad x-pipe/catback/ upper & lower control arms/clutch - motor and rearend untouched) n/a cars already in the mid 11's and 100 shot bolt-on cars in the high 10's. This may very well be the beginning of another huge Mustang performance wave like the EFI fox cars were.

    DAAAAAAANNNNNGG!

    Here's a sample:

Yeah, there is some kid on the CC forum that bleeds a little more blue than Speedzter (Speaking of which, where'd he go?) raving about that mustang and it's drag passes. I will say, I didn't realize it was a N/A engine until he pointed it out to me.
    Escaped on a technicality.

I wonder how that 100 shot car drives on the street with the 4:56s in it.

With a 6 speed in front of it, probably not to shabby.

Apparently the 6th gear isn't much taller than the 5th gear they had before. If my calculations are right with stock wheels and tires it will do about 2300 rpm @ 60mph

I think I read that blue one (first vid) later went 10.9x with a small shot (100?) with the factory 3.73 gears.

not sure what you're saying, but if it's "carbs are better than EFI" - I almost want to mail you a megasquirt kit to put together and make that 3-main boxer run like it had 4 mains! ;)

DG which is better MS1 or MS2, what is the difference??

And which would be better for the Turbo Coupe??

                          Re: This new 5.0L Mustang

A friend of mine who's attained rank of supervisor has ordered a black on black california special convertible for his lease... he will have the car less than 48 hours when the gear swap occurs - he's trying to decide between 3.73 and 4.10.

These cars are a blast to drive - I can tell you that first hand.

The v6 is damned impressive too - sure beats the living hell out of the 4.0 and the 2.3s that came before it as "std" equipment.
There's always something new to learn.

                            tough question Alex...

a good one to post to Matt Cramer maybe?

MSII has a faster processor. MS1, with Extra software, can do more options at one time. The MS guys would probably rather you use MS2 as Motorola is soon to "run out" of MS1 Motorola processors...

My personal suggestion would be, try to use MS2 so long as you find a good "HOWTO" or writeup on doing it for your car. Figuring you'll start by using the stock TFI distributor, MS2 will be pretty easy to do. That's where you should start, I think.

Kinda can't wait for you to get on this project. It's a lot of fun. When I put my first MS together I remember thinking "no f-ing way is this thing going to work, I don't know sh!t about soldering these things together!" then we turned the key, and "vroom!"
