this may seem young in mentality for the pros, but it does give some interesting facts of iron/stainless..

I did not know stainless was just iron with weaker nickel to shine.. (I have always assumed stainless to be weak, now I know why)

gimme the rusty and well burned carbon mix anytime..

steel droplets for mascots... haha, I like it.

If stainless was weak, they wouldn't be building airplanes out of the stuff.

A great many have landing gear and engine parts of stainless.
        Some have stainless tubing frames.
While aluminum prevails in most aircraft for it's relative lightness, stainless remains the choice of materials for parts needing corrosion resistance, durability, and strength.
There's no hard and fast rule as to "what planes", but it's a common metal in the aircraft industry.
No mild steel or other ferrous metals.
For military spec plane parts, you'll find lots of titanium, waspalloy, magnesium, and so on.
