          The Lotus Cortina was/is a fantastic little car. Back in the day, it could well have been called Ford's unsung hero. I love those things.

            I was searching for 1965 and boxer... there was none racing unless a hacked beetle or whatever. Those downdraft inlines were the first rice. :

            I'd like to see the cortina out there with an alfa 33 (too new for the race, but old school carbs etc).. less than 1.8 liters...a racing liquid boxer and a racing downdraft inline... Hilarious. Given the alfa plays with lambos...it would be hilarious.

            I did find the alfa playing with the race cars...

            On board with Tim Lewis in his 2.0 Supercharged Alfa Romeo Alfasud sprint with approximately 380bhp (was 320bhp before fitting a smaller pulley) in the AMOC ...
