Some of the talkers were questioning more the timing of it, that this is the worst time of the year to sail the Indian Ocean in particular. She and her parents knew when she left that she could expect multiple 24-36 hour periods of 20-30 foot swells and howling winds, as that's what the Indian Ocean does all the time during their wintertime.

We don't have life sentences (unfortunatly) overhere in the Netherlands.
Max is 30 or 32 years in jail I recall, and that's only if you steal enough taxmoney from the government. If you do something less serious : , like blowing someone's head off, you'll only get 6 to 12 here usually. sometimes even less if you've had a 'bad' childhood because your parents denied you a red bike when you were young for instance... :
