Found this on youtube. I had just remarked about the weight of a 55 at 3500 pounds in another thread here..."the number was not just thrown at us."
Recently, I spoke of catching holy hell about a 10.42 second chevrolet I ran at a drag strip... natural aspirated...no cage, no helmet, no nothing for racing but drivetrain...remarking.."I thought it was just quick". the car even ate g-forces. 10.4 was comfortable, as long as you didn't slide up the back of the seat as it took off.
I was comparing what 10.4 must be like in a subaru.. "must be like riding a missile slamming through six gears as fast as you possibly can." after wheels pounced off the ground in the stiff unibody. alot of kids do not know 10-13 secs could be had with a drink in your hand and one hand on the wheel....simply quick...not an act of a screaming nasa missile.
anyway, got a kick out of this vid. even compares metal guage..the thud of american 18 at a minimum. ;D
it is more than memories.
