Re: Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
That driver is VERY impressive. As someone else mentioned, this does not seem to be his first time up this hill - he knew just what was coming and how he was going to handle it. Smart driver, as well.
Cool to watch

Re: Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
Mt. Ventoux they just climbed this mountain in the tour de france. The video doesn't give you any kind of realistic perception of just how steep that hill is.... the climb ranges from 8% to up to 16%....
Been there, done that, a whole lot slower ;) down was fun on the bike, but dang cold.
other note, the mountain's name, translated, is Mt. Windy.... you can start your climb in 80 degree weather and have snow on the top.... with a nice gale force wind to just cap it off.... fortunately, the day I was there - it was nice 70 at the bottom, 50 at the top..

Re: Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
While I love seeing racers hang the back end out on the dirt road of Pikes Peak, if it was paved like this road the 10 minute record would be history.

Re: Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
Not to take anything away from our pikes peak boy but when I watch him drive I'm rolling my eyes, this dude on the other hand has them pinned wide open!!! Excellent driver!!! (and you won't hear me say that about very many people, I promise!)

That was bad ass! I'm guessing that wasn't his first time up that particular hill. ;D

Re: Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
hellacious. ;D
at 6000 feet and green trees... perfection for engines.
I'd love to see one of those screamers in a maine single digits F.
I'd rather climb a 15k foot mountain.
he'd probably break the thottle off..no need to shift. :
pikes peak is a king of challenge, this vid was very fast, like sea level.

Wicked Quick Hillclimb Video
Just found this on the Studebaker Driver's Club forum...
Check this vid - older Formula car making a banzai run up the mountainside during a hillclimb.
The guy is blazing fast through the twisties with the engine screaming.
Bonus! The guy breaks the knob off the shift lever as he crosses the finish line, and holds it up for all to see.
You'll love this better than the Pikes Peak footage elsewhere on BS.
