I am deprived.. and getting older everyday.


10 times less than a whole list is my pathetic life. :

some to add: drive a car that is nowadays a custom or hot rod or classic.. all year round in a climactic zone. THAT is something never ever to forget, for me in maine.

also, a simple drag race at a local track with yor oem car, that is always fun. slow or fast.


future goals realistically is loring land speed, and ice racing (local for me)

meanwhile, I troll bangshift pretending cars haven't killed me before 40. ???

yet another modern one to add: in forums, and you tubes, haters comments aside... answering a question seriously asked, car related is a good thing to do.

lack of knowledge killed what we love.

14 1/2 for me. My family owned a group of logging skidders with Detroit 4-53's in them. I consider a 4-53 a half of a 8-71.

And I have run enough chain saws in my life that putting a V8 on one will be the last thing I do.

I hope to be able to mark off Drag Week this year. I am planning to attend but the truck is coming apart for paint and still hasn't made a run down the drag strip since 1996. Looking forward to a couple of marathon weeks in the middle of August. Maybe if I make it and the truck is pretty enough, I may be able to get it in Hot Rod and mark off two for the year!

1965 Chevy with a 455 OLDSMOBILE engine in it. I will have to read up on how to post pictures.

Being an BBO, I am going to try to avoid this one:

Throw the rods out of the oil pan.

It is a real possibility.

Except for resizing the picture, you get the idea of the truck. This is just before I rolled it into the shop to tear it apart for paint. The color combo will stay the same. The paint is just very worn. I am also working on the hood- remounting the hinges and latches and a few other minor things- replacing the bumper, grille, and wheels.

Yes you do.....BUT having any of them checked off means you are heading in the right direction. Seriously, there are about 10 of these that should be considered requirements for a person to live life and die calling themselves a hot rodder. The rest make even regular hot rodders envious.

Just keep on trucking and they will happen. I bet half of mine are from being in the right place at the right time. It's just proof that we need to keep on living for everyday because some of these are cooler than can be explained.
