    How long did the single cylinder John Deere gas engine get produced for? I have seen thousands of them and they all look the same?!?!?!?!?

      1961 to 2004 with only changes made to external accessories.

      VW air cooled boxer 4 cyl engine. 1938 to late 1990's. Car was built in South America unchanged from 73 Super Beetle until late 90's.

          1945-ish to 2003, with only size increments added.
