  • A Shout Out to BS'r Stage1Scott!

I'd like to take this moment to once again state that the members of this forum rule. Scott has helped me a ton over the last year or so, and continues to do so with his Buick expertise and generousity. He always seems to have what I need and willing to help me out. When I was first putting the 455 together I lost the oil slinger, Scott promptly mailed one out to me. I wanted fender mirrors for the Skylark, Scott had them and gave them to me :D Because of Scott I got to meet up with an old friend that was a service writer at the Pontiac/GMC dealership I washed cars at in highschool and college that races a '70 Buick GS and hounded me to put a 455 in my Skylark (back when I only owned ONE car!). I had lost contact with him, and it was cool after I had the conversion done Scott let me know the guy was going to be at Irwindale's 1/8th mile while I was in So. Cal. so I went. And his latest expression of generosity towards me showed up in the mail today. I wanted to install new cam bearings in my Skylark, so I asked Scott if he had a cam bearing installation tool and if he did if I could borrow it. Well it showed up today! I can't thank Scott enough not only for the tool, the how incredibly fast he sent it here. I just hope I can pay if forward as much as he has.

Cheers to Scott and Cheers to the whole BS Forum Group, thanks all of you guys too that have helped each of us out.

aw shucks, tweren't nothin at all.... seriously, I have had guys, usually half a generation or more older than me step up and help me all my life in this hobby/business. Paying it forward was the norm long before I ever heard that term. I have had lifelong friendships built around car repair and car hobbies, and I just continue what I was taught by these folks. The internet has made this all somewhat easier, of course-I may have met Randall along the Buick path sometime, but here it made it easy. This is a great group, as are several other forums I lurk on. True car people are just like that.

And I officially, here and now nominate him for "takes engines out for fun" awards this year!! :P

Thanks guys, glad I am making the RIGHT impression!! I was thinking Big Dad and I ought to switch sometime, just to mess with you--you would click on the big dad link, but see miss canada doing the grind, and get all messed up trying to remember who it was you were clicking for..and vice versa for the hooters car wash chick he has! LIfe is short, have some fun..............
