What driving school would you like to go to?

I know alot of us have done some pretty reckless stuff in cars. Most of us probably didn't really know how to really control a vehicle in what we were doing. I would love to do some kind of road racing, slidin, 360 degree spinning type of school were they show you the deft touches of how to really drive a car. What driving school would you go to get the most out of your favorite kind of driving?

the school for ice trucking.

I did see one attempting ice racing, and it faded away like summer.

I've been to the 3 day comp school at Jim Russell at Sears Point. I've also been to the SFR-SCCA comp school at Thunderhill. Frankly, the SFR SCCA school was far better and even after renting a car, its less than half the cost of the Russell program. You actually get to race W2W at the SCCA.

The Russell open wheel trainers aren't exactly made in "Man" sizes, so that was a pain. But it was an interesting experience from the stand point of open wheel v. tin top. The last outing they put us in Formula Russel cars that had significant downforce (an attempt to hook us for another school I presume). That was wicked fun.

My Dad has done the Petty program at tracks around the country. I attended when he drove at Vegas, and I did a ride around with an instructor. That was pretty cool. You really don't realize what that banking feels like until you do it at speed. Holy crap.

Oh I'd hafta go to bondurants school, I was able to go for a test ride in a crown vic that had a 4.6 cobra mod motor along with a 5 speed in it and was used as the schools demo drift car, so freakin awsum

I went to JIM SENIOR driving school thirty years ago and can outdrive everybody .....yep

school of hard knocks, knock over a deer knock over a drunk driver ect ect ect.........

but I would've loved to be in the pass side of the #3 at a superspeedway to see how he knew what,where,when
to use the air to pass,upset another cars areo and generally,, slide across bumbers without hitting them and without letting off. stuff he did without try'n

I would love to go to a Skip Barber High performance street car course, but the open wheel stuff doesn't really interest me that much. It would be nice if there was a school focused on recovery techniques for high speed spins, or marginal driving conditions. Till I find one, I guess I will stick with frozen lakes. Frozen surfaces tend to make you very attuned to your vehicle balance, power application, and smooth transitions on and off the power. The Escort gets unbelievably tail happy (for a fwd car) coming out of corners if you don't nurse it around correctly. My 0.02 cents, since I can't afford the cost of a school.

I'm almost stupid enough to think that after driving 32 yrs and pushing the limits on pavement , wet roads . snow and ice , really what are they going to teach me. ( I know they could but with a open track it just seems that I could figure the fastest way around) But one of those defensive/evade schools that chauffeurs of at risk people (like of being kidnapped/hostage) that would be cool.
