can any body identify the noise in my big block in the 17 to end second mark on this video ( sorry hasn't been running for 7 months and cracked sads with it only small snit bit ,if i had thought about it i would have filmed the noise which comes from under the manifold at the back of the carby and posted it sooner. ps. there is a small nick in the crank on the conrod journal 4,7 and 8 cylinders) i will be eternally grateful to anyone who can identify this noise from 1/2 sec video

the vid may not give what your trying to give.

stupid microphones. I have seen this attempted many times.. need to be there.

a solid tappet boxer in internet video sounds like a 2 cylinder diesel for example..

If you don't have one, use a wooden broom stick about 2 foot long. Put it against the block next to each cylinder and put your ear against the other end. You can hear any odd noises and identify which cylinder it's coming from. My dad taught me this many years ago trying to find a rod knocking noise.

we used a long plastic handled screwdriver on all the cylinders and still came up blank

                  Glad you found it.

                  Sounds nice, otherwise.
You'll have it back to that point very soon.
